Use our Utah Ground Snow Loads (2019) map to easily determine the historical ground snow load (Utah Code: Title 15A Chapter 3 Section 107) for any location in the State of Utah. You can click on the map below to find the design ground snow load for that location. Certain jurisdictions (shaded grey) have specific snow load requirements per Table 1608.1.2(b) that differ from the values given by the Utah Snow Load Study. Some of these locations require contacting the local Building Official directly to determine the appropriate ground snow load. Table 1608.1.2(b) ground snow loads are only valid if site elevation is within 100 feet of the listed elevation. Otherwise, contact the local Building Official. The 2018 Utah Snow Load Study published by Utah State University (Marc Maguire, Brennan Bean, Yan Sun) is currently the most accurate method for obtaining ground snow load values for the State of Utah. |
