Washington Ground Snow Loads BETA

Use our Washington Ground Snow Loads map to easily determine the ground snow load for any location in the State of Washington. You can click on the map below to find the design ground snow load for that location.

The calculated ground snow loads are based on data from over 400 climate monitoring stations across Washington. The map uses an inverse distance weighting algorithm which calculates the ground snow loads based on data from both the National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the National Weather Service (NWS). Data from the NRCS includes both older Snow Course and the newer SNOTEL stations. View the detailed report to compare values with previous snow load study and local (county/city) jurisdictions.

* Ground snow loads derived from data provided by NRCS and NWS recording stations. Local codes and ammendments may govern, verify with local building department or jurisdiction.

Use our Roof Snow Load Calculator to determine your design roof snow loads.
